Why do so many people hate Valentine's Day?

Every year on Valentine's Day I see so many posts on social media from people saying they hate this holiday because they feel like it simply exists to get consumers to buy a bunch of stuff to show the people we love how we feel once a year.  This irks me to no end.  Does the existence of Veterans Day imply that we should only show our respect and appreciation for veterans once a year?  Does Thanksgiving exist to remind us we should be thankful once a year?  I could go on with 4th of July, Memorial Day, etc. but I think you can see where I'm going with this.  That logic is insane.  And you know what?  All of these days are really great reminders for us to take a break from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and appreciate others.  Love others.  How can this be a bad thing?  Don't we all need reminders once in awhile?  I know I'm guilty of taking the amazing people in my life for granted sometimes and having a day that reminds me to really show them how much I love them, is a great idea in my book.  Don't want to buy into the commercialism of it all?  Then don't BUY anything!

So you're single on Valentine's Day?  Who cares!?  Do you have a friend, parent, sibling, pet, neighbor, etc?  Do you have people in your life that might appreciate a token of your gratitude or a sign of appreciation that they are in your life?  Great! Show them.  Love them. Love them on February 14th and then, only if you're feeling really ballsy, love them on February 15th too.  Heck, love them in August!  Can you imagine just how much better this world would be if we all celebrated people a little more?

If my count is accurate, I think I've used up my "?" quota for one post so that's all for now folks.  Moral of the story, stop spreading bitterness and spread a little more love.

Until next time
